UltraSleep™ isn't about increasing sleep time. Enhancing sleep’s restorative function supports the processes that restore both brain and body. This is the core of functional sleep health.

The science of
functional sleep health

Functional sleep health shifts the focus from sleep duration to sleep effectiveness. It’s about how well sleep restores physical, mental, and emotional health.
What does it sound like?
If this were a pill, would you ask what it tastes like? The sound and timing of the sound isn’t only incredibly brief, but it’s adapted to your brain activity at that exact moment. This isn’t “gentle tones to help you fall asleep”. This is adaptive neuroscience at work. The most important part is the precise timing of each sound pulse and the volume.

Better sleep, naturally supported.
No chemicals. No disruption. Just smarter signals that guide your brain into deeper, more restorative sleep.
How is UltraSleep different from white noise, soundscapes, or other sleep aids?
Other sleep products aim to help you fall asleep or stay asleep by masking noise or creating a soothing atmosphere. UltraSleep™ is completely different. It is constantly measuring and looking for precise moments where stimulation can enhance the restorative function of your sleep. Everything else is trying to add a few more minutes to sleep. UltraSleep™ is adding more sleep to each minute.
Your brain knows how to sleep. We help it do it better.
UltraSleep™ enhances your natural rhythms — no chemicals, no noise, no disruption.
What is restorative function and functional sleep health?
Most people think about sleep in terms of time. How many hours they get, or how long they spend in each stage. But good sleep is really about function. It depends on what your brain is actually doing while you sleep. When we look at restorative function, that’s the actual processes that are providing the benefits to sleep. It’s like comparing going to the gym for an hour, or being specific about how many reps with how much weight. At Affectable Sleep, we don’t just measure these functions, with Ultrasleep we directly enhance the restorative function of sleep, without altering sleep time. Ensuring every minute of sleep is as restorative as possible.
Thousands of micro-interventions, timed perfectly.
Each pulse lasts milliseconds — but together, they train your brain toward deeper sleep.

How does UltraSleep™ actually improve sleep?
UltraSleep™ enhances the core functions of sleep that make it beneficial for health and wellbeing. Instead of focusing on sleep time, we focus on improving the underlying processes that drive recovery. For more detail on how this works, see the research links below.
What kind of stimulation does the headband use?
The technical term is “auditory stimulation,” which is just a fancy way of saying sound. But this isn’t sound like you’re used to. These precise micro-stimulations last less than one-tenth of a second and aren’t delivered in a rhythm or beat. Each one is timed in response to your brain activity, based on what will have the strongest effect in enhancing your sleep’s restorative function.
Is the stimulation safe and scientifically backed?
Yes. The stimulation method used in UltraSleep™ is backed by over a decade of peer-reviewed research. It has been shown to be safe and well-tolerated in both lab and at-home settings. You can find a list of supporting research papers just below this section.
Will I feel or hear anything while using it?
You’re unlikely to feel or hear anything while using UltraSleep™. Each sound is brief and carefully volume-matched to your brain activity. It’s loud enough for your brain to respond, but not loud enough to wake you or disturb your sleep.
How is this different from a sleep tracker or app?
Sleep trackers try to measure how much time you spent in each stage, then give you a graph and a score after you wake up. UltraSleep™ works while you're asleep, interacting with your brain in real time to make sleep more effective. Trackers ask you to chase better scores. We focus on making your sleep better, then show you how we did it.
Do I need to wear it all night for it to work?
The majority of stimulation happens earlier in the night, when deep sleep is most prevalent. The headband is designed for comfort, so there’s no need to remove it. Wearing it through the night also helps the system better understand your brain activity over time. You’ll likely get the most benefit by wearing it all night, but you can adapt based on your own experience.
Can I use it with other sleep aids or routines?
Yes. UltraSleep™ can be used alongside most sleep aids or routines. Over-the-counter supplements like melatonin or magnesium typically won’t interfere. However, certain medications or alcohol may disrupt the restorative processes UltraSleep™ is designed to enhance. That disruption could reduce how your brain responds to stimulation. If you're unsure, it's best to consult your healthcare provider.
How quickly will I notice results?
Your response to stimulation is immediate, and we measure that response in real time. Research shows this response is linked to improvements in key biomarkers of health, including HRV, immune activity, and cognitive function. While anyone may benefit, people with reduced restorative function due to lifestyle factors, limited sleep opportunity, or disrupted sleep often see greater impact. How you feel upon waking varies from person to person, though research shows clear improvement in daytime sleepiness. Results are also measured through the physiological signals that reflect healthy sleep function.
Affectable’s patent-pending UltraSleep stimulation builds on more than a decade of research and over 50 peer-reviewed studies in slow-wave enhancement.
